Sunday Portrait creates timeless portraits of children – photographed patiently and without pressure. In the studio in Sint Anthonis or on location in the Boxmeer area.

How I work

Not a photo shoot, but a quiet Sunday

I photograph on Sundays, always by appointment. For many families Sunday is a day without school, work or rushing – and I like to bring that calm into the session.

There is no strict schedule. Your child gets time to settle in: to the space, to the camera and to me. Some children beam straight away, others first take their time to size things up. Both are perfectly fine.

I work patiently and follow your child's personality. A shy glance can be just as beautiful as a burst of laughter. I'm not looking for the perfect posed picture, but for a real expression – that moment when you think: yes, that's him. That's her.

For you as a parent this means: no fuss about “say cheese”, no stiff poses. Just a relaxed moment together, from which beautiful images naturally emerge.

After the session

Choose your favourite photo

After the session you get access to a personal online gallery with the photos from your session.

There you can look at everything calmly, whenever it suits you – at home on the sofa or together with grandma and grandpa. You choose the photos you love most. How many depends on the package.

That way you decide which images you want to keep: the photos that mean the most to you.

Editing

With care, down to the detail

I edit the photos you choose one by one.

I pay attention to the small things: natural skin tones, soft light, a calm background and a crop that feels right. No heavy filters or trendy effects that will feel dated in a few years, but an understated, timeless style that does justice to your child.

±2 weeks

Within about 2 weeks of your choice you will receive the final, edited photos.

Prints

A portrait to hold on to

A photo only truly comes to life when you can hold it, hang it on the wall or find it again in a drawer. That is why you can have a print made of your chosen portrait.

The prints are made by a high-quality professional photo lab, on matte photo paper. Matte paper gives a calm, soft look without gloss or reflections – exactly right for a timeless portrait.

Prints are optional and not included in the packages. The proportions of 30 × 40 cm differ slightly from 20 × 30 cm; I always agree the crop with you.

Why print

Our phones are full of photos. But when do you look back at them?

We take more photos than ever, and that's lovely: so much gets captured. But most images disappear into a digital gallery, among thousands of others, and rarely resurface.

A print is different. It hangs in the hallway you walk past every morning. It stands on the cabinet, next to last year's portrait. Slowly a photo wall appears that grows along with your children.

And twenty years from now? Your child takes that photo off the wall and sees themselves the way you saw them back then.
